Counselor Information and Downloadable Forms
Philosophy (continued): Because
I have been influenced by Postmodern, Social Constructionist, and Family Systems perspectives, you will find my approach to
be relationally dynamic and collaborative as we seek to explore the constructions of meaning, core beliefs, and patterns
of responding that may be contributing to the emotional and/or relational pain you may be experiencing. I strongly believe
in empowering people through research-based information and perspectives; you will often find me at the white board in
order to share with you valuable skills and interventions that have been proven to promote healthy change.
Many of my clients take notes in my sessions.
Individuals will be challenged to discover their own unique areas
of strength upon which to build the skills necessary to overcome problems and issues that contribute to feeling
"stuck." Couples will find my work to focus on the identification of individual patterns that
interfere with the ability of each partner to be invited to relational closeness, safety, and intimacy while building
skills in the areas of communication, conflict resolution, and mutuality. Older children and teenagers will discover the
counseling environment to be a comfortable and safe place where they will be heard and understood in order to uncover,
identify, and integrate the emotions that trouble them while learning valuable skills to help them cope with life's
struggles.
